Study shows that massage therapy reduces lower back pain
From Massage Mag:
“Several studies have shown massage therapy aides employees’ health. A new clinical trial indicates that massage is effective in reducing occupational low-back pain, and provides improvement in activities of work and life.
The trial aimed to evaluate the efficiency of massage in the reduction of occupational low-back pain, and its influence on the performance of work and life activities for an 18-member nursing team, according to an abstract published on www.pubmed.gov.
Disability Index indicated the nurses experienced reduction in low-back pain and improvement in quality of life.
“Massage application for occupational low back pain in nursing staff” was conducted by investigators from Escola de Enfermagem, Universidade de São Paulo, Brazil, and was published in Latin American Journal of Nursing.
